Sydney Short Trip: Part 1

** Sydney Trip last August; sorry for the long delay. Quite busy with many stuff, catching up with houseworks and other things, Alhamdulillah =) **

Quite a last minute decision for us to finally confirm our flight to Sydney, Alhamdulillah. Our dearest Nuha's passport and visa managed to be finalised and ready earlier than expected. Alhamdulillah. So, we decided to get a direct flight KUL-SYD instead of KUL-PER and then PER-SYD. Obvious reason, costs! Fyi, single ticket KUL-SYD is cheaper than PER-SYD! Not only to Sydney, any tickets to other parts of Australia is normally cost higher than going back to Malaysia. That is why we normally end up balik Malaysia, and takde lah nak pergi jalan-jalan OZ.huhu..

Flight took us 8 hours. It's Nuha's second time in flight. Alhamdulillah, she behaved quite well. Ada la sikit2 meragamnya since flight pun flight siang, at 1000am from KL.  Alhamdulillah, kakak Maryam behaved really good too! She slept for a few hours and then had fun entertaining and playing with Nuha =)

We arrived at 8pm Sydney time, 2 jam lebih awal from Malaysia/Perth.

Immigration check passed! Alhamdulillah. Obviously without any foods. Memang plan tak bawa apa-apa pun =(

Straight away to the car rental and hotel. Alhamdulillah. Arrived around 1000 Sydney time.

Kakak saja buat muka boring tunggu nak ambil kereta

Pusing-pusing juga la nak cari hotel dengan trafik dan tak biasa dengan Sydney city. Quite busy although dah malam, tak macam 'kampong halaman' huhu.. Awal-awal dah rasa, this is not our place..huhu..

And these photos are where we stayed for 2nights, Alhamdulillah. It's a great deal for such a big and spacious room, in a strategic location. It's The Sebel in Surry Hills.

A king and a sofa bed

The Sebel Surry Hills, Sydney. Recommended!

Close to Central Train Station and also 24 hours convenient store - 7-eleven! Quite surprise to see lottttsss of 7-E in Sydney! You can easily spot one or two between 200m apart. In comparison with Perth, I couldn't find any ! Hehe.. The 7e is just 1-2minutes Very convenient but bear in mind that, most of the stuff are quite pricey. And from our observations, food sold in Sydney is more expensive than Perth.

InsyaAllah the second part of our longggg outstanding entry on Sydney Trip will be uploaded soon! Stay tune =)

School holiday activities: Library

As previous school holidays, I also registered her on the library school holidays activities. The best part is that it's free, but you need to book in really early as the places are very limited and you tend to be in the waiting list.

Do check it out at your nearest public library on the activities offered, as early as two weeks before the school holidays come to secure a place =)

Making pop-up puppets in Knowledge Centre. Started off with a story telling session.

Making finger puppets. (Noticed the headband on her head? The one that she made during the little Crafters workshop =) )

School holiday activities: Little Crafters

I also enrolled Maryam for some school holiday activities organized by the Little Crafters.
There were many activities to choose from, suitable for both girls and boys. Each workshops cost $12, held at the Cannington Exhibition Hall, from 12pm for an hour per session.

More information on Little Crafters can be found here.

First workshop was Making Flowery Hairclips and Accessories.

The second was Making Fragrance Sachets.

And the third one was on sciences; Making a Construction Telescope.

Alhamdulillah, Maryam enjoyed herself during all these activities. If you're interested in enrolling your child/ren in one of the Little Crafters activities next time, do look out at their website especially when the school holidays are around the corner =)

School holiday activity: Triassic Fun Park, Canning Vale

During last school holidays in July, I had the chance to bring Maryam to this newly introduced Triassic Fun Park in Canning Vale. Alhamdulillah, thanks to Ummu Adam & Ayra for the recommendation. It was not that far from our house,  located at the same row as Kambos and near Livingston Shopping Centre.

Since Maryam's school had a winter break one week earlier than other schools, I took that chance to bring her while the other schools are still open; cheaper rate as it's not peak time and less crowded =D We only pay fees just for the children and adults goes FREE! Yeay! hehe..and it cost $10.50 during non-peak time.

This indoor park is similar like other indoor place that we've been to, such as Jungle Gym etc, but a bit smaller. There are play area, Dino ride area ($2 per ride), bumper car ride ($5 for 5 minutes), mini golf, ($7.50 per player), a cafĂ©, and also small private rooms where you can rent it out for small occasion or birthday party.

You can get more information from their Facebook page here . What I like the most is that their FB page always update you on whether their place is crowded and can still open for visitor at that hour especially during weekends/public holidays and other offer available.

Quick update

I've been neglecting this space a lot. I've loads of things to write and share, and most of them ended up save as draft, written half way through and pending to be published.

If I've got the time to spare, I'll continue writing and bear with me with all those outdated stories.

Nuha is now 4 months, rollover and been exploring here and there. Babbling and happily playing with her sister and anybody who cares to spare quality time with her =)

Now, it's been 2 weeks of Syawal. Alhamdulillah, Allah gave us another chance to celebrate it with both families in Malaysia. Alhamdulillah. A week of happiness and joy especially to my dear Maryam, got to play with her cousin, Rayyan. We spent about 9 days in Malaysia, then we off to Sydney for a short trip, attending a wonderful wedding of our friend plus holidays, Alhamdulillah =)

Will try to squeeze some time to share on that insyaAllah.

Finally! =D

Alhamdulillah, the most awaited baby finally found her way out =) Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah =)

The new addition to the family was born on Monday, 15th April 2013, 4 Jamadil Akhir 1434H, 6.12am, Armadale Hosp via SVD.

And yes, the second baby girl Alhamdulillah =)

Do we look alike? Maryam, 5yo and her sister =)

Excited kakak =)

We went to the hospital that morning, leaving the little princess at home with my parents, whom already with us in Perth since early March. Will story about it later insyaAllah. Looks like she behaved really well and still went to school that day.

This is what she made for me and the baby while at school and at home. All by herself, her own idea - how sweet she is =)

Alhamdulillah, so far everything went well. May Allah ease and make it easy for all of us insyaAllah, especially when both my parents back to Msia in less than 2 weeks. Huhu..

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and du'a for my safe delivery. It was such a relief to finally hold the baby, Alhamdulillah =)

Harmony Day!

It's been quite some time this blog has been abandoned. Really sorry for the long silence. Alhamdulillah, we're still here in Perth - safe and sound, healthy Alhamdulillah. =)

The not-so-little princess in the house is going to be 5 insyaAllah in this few days. She actually looking forward to hold a party just for her girlfriends, but I've reminded her over and over as we might only able to make just a small party or maybe postpone it to another date, depends on the current situation. Kesian juga lah kan, but what to do..hehe..

Her school celebrated the Harmony Day a day earlier than other schools due to having a Photo Session day on Thursday. And it was the very first time for Parents' Assembly for Primary students in this year. Alhamdulillah, her TokNde and TokTah were here and got the chance to witness that very special event. My mom said, she hasn't got the chance to come to any of our (read: her children) assembly when we're young due to work commitment. So that will be a memorable one for them, to attend their grandchild's instead. Heheh.. And that always make me think and always be thankful and grateful to have the chance to see my own children grow daily. Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah =)

Poster for the year

Her artwork being hanged in the school library =)

All of the students need to be dressed in orange. Since orange is not her favourite, (the usual typical little girl who loves pink and purple very much), so that was a bit headache for me to find one. But Alhamdulillah, there's one being brought by my mom - so that's her in her orange tshirt with a blue jeans.eheh..

With her bestfriend

One that day too, there were some awards being given out to the students. I totally love the way; how the school encourages the students on doing good deeds and kind things. Yup, encouragement is the key. Why I say so? It's because the award were given not because you earned the long straight A's in your subject, getting the highest mark in the class or even school, but the awards were given to those have done good things although it's just a small one. Not to say that academic isn't important though.

For kindness award, her bestfriend received it for her class. She has shown a very wonderful and sweet thing in welcoming one of their new friend to their class. The new girl was a bit sad and worry on the first day, but they (Maryam & her bff) has welcome her by singing a lullaby, showing the wonderful arts around the class, playing with her etc without even being told to do so by their teacher! Isn't it sweet =)

Her turn to received award from the principal, Alhamdulillah =)

She got one too Alhamdulillah, because of her confident reading a book in front of her class and Year 1 class and teachers. Alhamdulillah =)

It was quite a long assembly, which included those activities being planned for the Harmony Day =)

Cooking & Baking session with Maryam

During the last week of school holidays, we had our great time together at the kitchen. Alhamdulillah. She's a big girl now, and always looking forward to help me whenever I'm in the kitchen.

She'll come to me and say;
'Is there anything I can help you Ummi' ,
'Oh please, let me help you with anything'

Such a sweet girl she is, Alhamdulillah.

Since the other half was at home last week, I decided to make something special for tea time for us. Yup, my mood in cooking/baking definitely turns off or 'black-out' most of the time when he's not at home. (Tak boleh la langsung hilang, tak makan pula kami dua beranak, hehe) And it turns out to be such a fun activity for both of us, Alhamdulillah. Should do it more often, insyaAllah.

Enjoy the photos taken during the week =)

This was taken when we're making doughnuts. Thanks to Kak Umi, for the great recipe. Sungguh sedap and lembut, especially when the doughnuts were still hot, fresh from the stove =) We made half of the recipes, but enough for 2-3 days for our teatime. And yesterday, she asked for more doughnuts!

We made just plain doughnuts for the first time, and some doughnuts with plum jam (menghabiskan stok jem).

She's busy decorating her own pizza.

A smiley face pizza -
(Bila dah masak, menyesal pula sebab tak cukup pepperoni..hehe)

Our main pizza for the night. First-time =)

Before putting in the oven.

Sausage rolls and blossom sausages bun =)
Her favourite bun when we're stop at any bakery shop in Msia

Another week to go..

She has another week to go before the Term 1 starts in Feb insyaAllah.

For the past 2weeks, she attended the Vacation Swimming classes. Then this week, we spent our time at the local libraries nearby our house for the school holiday activities. Alhamdulillah. Penat juga nak drive ke sana ke mari, tapi mengenangkan kesian pula kat Maryam. Boring duduk rumah especially when her dad's not at home.

Day 1: takdpt nk join, gara2 xcukup umur 5yo. Sungguhpun lagi few months aje lagi.
