Fish Market @ CanningVale

For the first time, we finally went to the Fish Market in Canning Vale. Hehhe..Quite excited to go that morning, we went off as early as after Subuh prayer at about 5.15am! Hhehe..

We thought the market opens at 5am, but actually at 6am. So, we waited for half an hour in front of the market. It seemed that there were quite a number of people also waiting for the market to open.

Yes, the prices are cheap. Alhamdulillah! We bought 2 different types of fish and prawns. Thinking of our not-so-big freezer at home, we only bought that for this time. InsyaAllah will come again. For 2kg large prawns, 1kg of bream (3pcs mid size) & 1kg of snapper (2 large fish); we spent about $50! Lepas la untuk masak 5kali makan so far, but there's still 3pcs fish and more than 1kg prawns left! Hheeh..

Our food for Sunday lunch & dinner =)

Bream masak sambal

Snapper sweet sour

Udang masak lemak

Butter prawn yg tak berapa nak jadi.. But yummy!

Maryam's playdate

Maryam has a best friend at school. Tuhce, a Turkish lovely girl. Everyday when we met her and her mom, Fatma at school, they always invited us to come over to their house. So, one day, we decided to come to their house, which is not very far from the school.

We brought them a Fairy Cupcakes, made by Maryam and myself.

They had stayed in Perth nearly 2 years, after about 9 years in Melbourne. Maryam can get along very well with Tuhce since both had similar characteristics and the most important thing is that, they can understand each other. Hehe.. =)

Picnic at home, with Tuhce's younger sister

While the children were busy playing together, I was chatting and get to know more with Fatma and her mother ie Tuhce's granny. Their whole family is currently residing here in Perth except Fatma's sister; whom also waiting for her visa to reside permenantly here in WA. The best part was definitely on their hospitality. From time to time, they served us with food and food. Hehe..

Our lunch for the day: Pilaf rice, chicken and salad

Maryam's plate. Cute

Turkish tea

Lovely kids
InsyaAllah, we'll be seeing them again soon, maybe at our house. Get the chance to know their culture and food and will do the same insyaAllah for them. Thinking of what should be the best food to serve them..hehe. Any suggestions?

Jalan-jalan Perth: Abingdon Miniature Village, Mandurah

We went here last Sunday, a day after our Eid Openhouse. Just a short visit here, just to bring the not-so-little girl Maryam had some fun. Quite a last minute plan, we only decided to go here about half past 10 in the morning, get ready and off we went.

Oh yes, we went to Abingdon Miniature Village in Mandurah. The journey took us about 45minutes to an hour.

Maryam @ the entrance

The Abingdon Miniature Village is where it displays a small scale miniature of historic buildings in the UK. There are many different types of miniature villages such as the Omnibury Station & Model Train, Shakespeare's Birth House, Water Wheel and many more.

Cute little buildings

When paying the entrance fee, the lady at the counter said to Maryam, whether she can find any fairies in the garden. She was so excited to hear that, and was lookin forward to find those fairies as mentioned.

Found one here!

THere's a maze as well!

We had a short break at the wonderful teahouse. Since it's very hot that day, we ordered a strawberry milkshake and chocolate drinks. Yumm!

21st Syawal yang lalu..

On the last weekend of Syawal, we had our makan-makan. We only decided to do makan-makan quite last minute, ie on Wednesday. Due to short of kakitangan nak tolong-tolong masaknya, nak kemasnya, some of the guests were invited on the day before or some at even at 12 noon on that day itself. Really sorry if I've missed any of you, really didn't mean to left you behind. Ikutkan hati, seluruh kenalan Perth ni nak diajaknya..hehe..

The usual menu of the day was definitely nasi tomato, salad and ayam masak merah. Itu jelah yang pandai nak masaknya..huhu..And another main dish was laksa Johor. Alhamdulillah, first attempt berjaya kerana perut sendiri yang teringin la sangat nak makan.

Nasi tomato, salad, ayam masak merah, laksa Johor & accessories

Homemade lemang & rendang daging

Strawberry Trifle

Chocolate Cake (*Blurry*)

Alhamdulillah, really that Allah permudahkan segala urusan. Allah make it easy for me to prepare and cook and the food were enough for all the guests. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah. Ada rezeki insyaAllah Raya Haji bolehlah buat lagi, jika keadaan kesihatan mengizinkan.

Jalan-jalan Perth: Araluen Botanical Garden

Since the spring has started early this month, we definitely wouldn't want to miss the beautiful sceneries especially tulips here in Araluen Botanical Garden. This was our second time here. Last year, the tulips were already blooomed and many of those tulips bed has started to fall off during our visit there.

We went there on Sunday, where at the same time my sister-in-law was here visiting us. As expected, the park has started to get crowded as time goes by. We arrived as early as it opens at 9am, after our short visit to the Belmont Sunday Market..hehe..So my advice is definitely to come here as early as possible especially if you want to come during weekends or public holidays.

Maryam with her weird (funny?) face

Red & purple tulips

Nice combination of yellow and red. Wonderful!

Another beautiful scenery

Oh yes, Araluen is still full with flowers all seasons I believe. Maybe the main attraction is tulips. But you can still come during other months of the year for many other different flowers as below =)

She lovessss to draw!

One night, she showed us her drawing that night. She then told us that her teacher said there'll be a drawing contest and she would love to join. I said to her, yes why not. And she needs to practise a lot so that she can draw a nice picture. So, she keeps on drawing and drawing. Oh yes, I just let her use the Doodle Pro instead of using the papers. Easier to erase and redraw and definitely not wasting the papers. Huhu..

So yesterday, during our usual chatting session in the car heading home from her school, she told me that she got 2nd prize for the drawing contest. Her teacher called out her name during assembly and this is what she got! Alhamdulillah!

I'm way too I asked her where's her drawing. She told me that her teacher will hang it at the library! Lagilah maknya excited lebih. Hehe..  I don't know from whom she got the talent from, since my hubby and myself are not good at drawing. Maybe she inherites from her Tok Tah & Tok Nde.

Can u guess which one is hers?

Happy Father's Day, Ayah!

It was last Sunday. So, it's belated entry for him.

She made a special gift for Ayah at school, and with some help from her teacher, obviously. Hehe.. And she chose her favourite colour, purple for the wrapping. Very nice!
