Library session Again..

Last Tuesday was our first day of library session after a whole week off when we're in Malaysia. It's good to see that Maryam really enjoy her time there. Alhamdulillah. I can see that after so many sessions, she's now actively involved with the session, singing along and really focus during the story telling session. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah =)

As usual, after the story telling session, kids will then do some artwork; colouring, cutting and pasting. Normally the art will be related to the story that day. It was about pigs. Two short stories about the pink animal. So, this was what she did...

A piglet mask!
Once she seated on the chair and started to colour, the lady (story teller) came to us. Can you guess what she asked? She was asking whether Maryam is okay with the picture or she can change another picture for her to colour. She's really concern about it! I was impressed! She even went and asked other Muslim mothers (3 of us that day including myself) the same question.

But, no..we didn't request for a change. There's nothing wrong with colouring a picture of a piglet. Islam doesn't teach us that. Pig is still an animal, created by Him, and of course, it is Haraam to even touch and eat them. And that applies to the real animal, not a picture of them. Lebih-lebih lagi kat negara orang, pigs are something that they adore very much!
