Last week..

It's been a while (again)..and it's almost a month past by without an update...

Last week, my mom was away for Umrah with her sisters for about 10 days. And that means we need to think of how to take care of Maryam during that period. But, Alhamdulillah, everything was ok, although there were some slight problems since Maryam cannot easily get along with other people..huhu..

I took half-day leave in the morning for the first few days while my MIL was the one to look after Maryam while I'm at work. Alhamdulillah. I did planned to take leave for the whole week, but after considering that I need to save some annual leaves for Raya, emergency cases there goes plan B.

Maryam behaved quite differently during that time. She seemed to have the sense that she will be left behind while I go to the office. While I'm with her at home, she doesn't want to leave me and just play around nearby. I need to be right beside her all the time. And the same thing happened when she's with my MIL. Nak masak atau ke mana sahaja pun susah..nak berkepit je! hehe.. But, that was last week. Now, my mom is back Alhamdulillah. =)

Now, Maryam is getting checkier day by day. Likes to play by herself and loves playing hide and seek with people around her. hehe...Loves to scream and babbling around. Oh yes, she's now easily immitating us! Each time we taught her on something, later after that she will start doing it! Hoho...need to be extra careful as she might follow on something not good!

Will update again later.

13months old

Today is Monday, another week of working as usual. And as usual, another week for us both without ayah around. He only back for a day and a night last week and then off he go again for work. We really miss ayah so much. Yes, we really do.

Maryam was having a slight fever for two days last week and we discovered that there were white patches inside her mouth. I was about to google on what's that really is. Coincidently, a friend of mine was just blogging about it as her daughter, whom also shares the same name as my daughther also having the same symptom. After googling and searching more on the net, yes, it is confirmed that Maryam was also having the Oral Thrush.

So, off we go to Dr Musa's clinic @ DSH. As usual, his clinic is always full with parents and children waiting outside on the sofas. He is one of the famous and calibre paeds here. We arrived as early as 8.15 just to be among the first to get to see him although the clinic only opens at half past eight. If not, you might be the 15th or even 20th person if you arrive there at 9am! Lucky us, we were no 5. Since we arrived early, we went to the cafeteria to have our breakfast just to kill the time.

Dr Musa prescribed her an oral gel. Alhamdulillah, within a day her mouth is now free from the fungus. Pity her. As per doctor, it might be caused by the germs/bacteria which couldn't be seen happily living around her toys. And she likes to put most of her toys inside the mouth. So, there goes why! huhu..We should be more careful now.

Wanna know more about the Oral Thrush. More info can be read from here.

Maryam and I have been to the swimming pool for the first two consecutive days at Awana. As per my earlier post, Maryam was very scared with the water and she cried whenever her body was in the pool. Pity her. Maybe it's quite early for her to enjoy swimming in the pool. Will try again next time insyaAllah.

Smartkids Playzone @ Awana

During our stay here, so far we did not miss any single day to visit this place. We can spend at least an hour per session in order to occupy our day time in Awana. Maryam has been adapted to this playzone environment as she's now freely go anywhere she wants in that specific area if compared to her first day there..Tak mahu lepas langsung from my arms.

FYI, there are 3 different rooms; (i) Full with small colourful balls (ii) TV room/ another playroom with legos & teddy bears (iii) Authorised personnel only room. And oh yes, the common area also; 2 sets of small tables and chairs and a small playhouse. Maryam will run and enjoying her moment in the area; first you can see her playing with the balls, then within minutes, she's in the common area playing with the tables and chairs. So cute...

Now, let the photos do the talking. Enjoy!

Maryam main masak-masak dlm playhouse

Sangat teliti dan begitu asyik bermain

Tengah sibuk mengemas dan memasak...=)

The red one or the blue ball?

Don't know which one to choose! =)

Holiday mood!

Yup..I'm on holiday! hehe..not really a holiday trip, but that's good enough for me to have fun and relax with my little family- especially with Maryam. We arrived at Awana Kijal yesterday evening around Maghrib time after about 4 hours plus journey. Alhamdulillah, Maryam behaved very well, slept for the first hour of journey and then continued sleeping after playing for a while. She looked really happy and enjoying her moment in the car. hehe..

After refreshed and performed our prayer, we went out for some groceries and dinner. Out of the sudden, the whole building of shoplots were black-out. The road lights were also out and it seemed that the whole area was dark. hehe..Alhamdulillah, it only happenned for about 15-20 minutes. Luckily, we managed to get our order soon after that.

The most awaiting time here is to bring Maryam to the swimming pool for the first time. So, as early as 815, we headed through the lobby to the pool. No wonder there were none people swimming as it only opens at 8.30am. After waiting for a while, came one of the safeguards with a container of bath towel to the registration counter. Then, few kids with their parents came for swimming as well. Off we go to the kids swimming area, which was quite far from the registration counter.

I thought Maryam would be having fun playing in the pool with me. But, I was totally wrong on this. She cried every time I put her in the pool. She even hold me very tide as if I want to leave her there. Oh dear. Kesian sangat anak ummi. Maybe the water is quite cold for her. I tried to console her again and again but to no avail. She doesn't stop crying and asking me to go out from the pool (through her body language, of course) So, I decided to bring her back to the room as she seemed really tired and sleepy. Hhehe...nevermind. Will try again tomorrow morning. Hopefully her mood will be better tomorrow insyaAllah.

And now, she's sleeping soundly on the bed. Lama juga tidurnya, since 9.30 until now - 11.11am. Hehe...Almost 2 hours. Will update again later.

Happy 1st birthday to you!

Maryam Safiyyah Bt Suhaib turns 1 yo today. Alhamdulillah.

I can still remember the days when she's still in the womb, in her early months - the morning sickness time and during the labour hours: her first moment seeing the whole new world with us. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah.

Ameen.

After a while..

It's been more than 2 weeks this blog has been left not updated. Not in the mood plus don't have much idea on what should I blog on. Hmm.. the idea is there but don't have the guts to blog actually. Sedar tak sedar, my dearie blog has reached 1 month old! Yup, 1 mo with more than 10 entries. not that bad yeah..for people like me; newbie on blogging. =)

Updates on my little girl..Maryam is now actively mastering her walking skills. Alhamdulillah. She walks really fast. Especially when you are trying to stop her from going to the stairs, she will walks even faster like she's running way from you! Itulah yang paling merisaukan..Takut terbabas masa berjalan tu kalau di'uzubillah.

She's also learning to speak can can utter few words. But her favourite word is "nak nak". She will just point out to anything and says 'nak nak'. She sometimes really mean that she wants something but most of the time, she's just love saying that words. hhehe..confusing isn't it?

That's basically update on my beloved Maryam.

For myself, I'm still busy as usual since my assistant left for maternity leave. Yup, working on my own for the past month. But I think working alone is great actually. I know when is the deadlines and I can prioritize on my work. So, Alhamdulillah so far everything went on smoothly. If not, you need to keep on reminding people on what should be done or things need to be checked when deadlines is nearer. Or sometimes you nearly missed the deadlines as the documents are still pending which are supposed to be done earlier and so forth.

What's even worst is your life (i.e. KPI) depends on other people as well! My superior told me once during assessments, ... " yup, you depends on the people reporting to you, my KPI also depends on my staff including yourself and Mr A's will be assessed based on people of the whole branch! is indeed true! That's what you called an organisation and a team. In order to success, you cannot be organised or maintaining your personal performance only but you should manage and educate other people. We are working as a team, aren't we?

Oh ye, tudung 60 inches is still up for sale. But of course now with less stocks available. You can check here for details. More stocks will be updated once arrived. But mostly it was sold offline. I understand that not many people likes online shopping since you cannot really feel, touch or even try on the products you are buying. I've experienced that. I once showed one of my collegues the products on picasa website. She just browse through and didn't show any interest at all. huhu..But, once I brought it to her, she's the one who bought most of it and even ordered other designs and colours! hehe...InsyaAllah, I guarantee you that the material is in good quality. =)

Ok, till then.

BabyIbu Giveaway: Win Gin & Jacqie Baby Bag =)

Blog hopping sometimes can be fun especially when you know what you are searching or looking for. Quite interesting actually when sometimes you can even meet your long long lost friend(s) by this activity. As I hop from one blog to another, I came across quite a nice and interesting blog site I could say - You can find informations mostly about babies and parenting from the day you were blessed with the good news of pregnancy until your little baby grows as a toddler. All in one, just by a click. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Browsing through, I noticed that babyibu.blogspot is currently organising an open contest to everyone whose interested. It's "Win Gin & Jacqie Baby Bag!" You know what- by just blogging about this contest, which is still running on until 1st March and follow other simple steps/regulations, you can win one of the three baby bags sponsored by Gin & Jacqie! Yup, you read it right...the prize is the baby bag!!!!

"What? You mean that 'baby bag'?...Are you crazy? Why wasting your time blogging for a baby bag- I don't get it? Duh..."

" No no no...not that usual baby bag. I mean this baby bag! Oh, I shouldn't waste my time anymore...Idea..idea..please come out- a creative one please..just for that baby bag"

"You must be crazy!"

"Yup...I am crazy! Crazy for these bags...

" What??!! "

"Are these baby bags?? Don't make a fool of me. It definitely doesn't look like one! "

"Don't be is!!"

Hmm...which one should I choose? All designs are great! But I think the Stylish Elaine Baby Bag suits me more.

You want to know why?

(i) Firstly, the colour. Brown black is definitely a stylish and elegant colour. It can easily match with any type of clothes and colours. Plus, a bright colour is not my preference.

(ii) The look. First and foremost, credits goes to the designer-Gin & Jacqie. It is wonderful and lovely gift to have such a great and creative idea to come out with the design. Sophisticated look, I could say. Mommies wearing this bag will definitely look gorgeus and people don't even noticed that you actually carry such things like .....diapers? hehe..

(iii) It's design. With three compartments, additional interior pockets to fit small items such as mobile phones, keys etc, plus one interior zipped can actually fit most of your baby's stuff - from diapers to soiled clothes to her favourite toys! What should I say more- it's more than enough for me & Maryam! With this, I don't need to bring extra bags for Maryam's stuff. All in one. Good for me and perfect for hubby as well. He doesn't have to hold so many things for me in case Maryam sleeps on me. =)

(iv) Most importantly, it provides Maryam a longer time to stay still at one place. She definitely has more things to ponder and dig out of the bag! That's my strategy in order to make her 'leka' for a while- normally when I want to perform my prayer. And fyi, it actually works as there are lots of cards to be taken out, receipts etc out of my purse! hehe..

I don't even know that there are such a stylish baby bag like this. More designs for Baby&Me type of bag can be found here. Hope I can wear one of those soon!

What you should know about TLC?

I'm on leave today. On MC to be exact. My daughter of mine, the only one for the time being is behaving and acting quite differently for the past few days. Difficult to get asleep although time has been ticking out sometimes until 11pm, have no appetite in eating meals etc. Maybe she's just adapting to her new phase of life- excited to learn new things every single minutes; mastering skills to stand alone, taking few steps, or maybe trying to speak! She likes to babbling around, where only God knows what she's been talking about. So, as a result, less sleep of mine and hubby every night, easily getting tired etc. And here I am now, taking MC to get some rest at home, which I doubt I can rest peacefully with my precious one around. hehe..

Ok, back to my initial point of writing. As most of us know, (I assume), TLC is one of the online shops which offers varies products for pregnant mommies, mommies and babies. After several times browsing on their products, I noticed that some of it you can't even get it at your nearest store. Or shall I say- difficult to find actually based on my own experiences. You can try check and browse it yourself here.

Actually, I don't want to talk about their products - you can experience it yourself. Action speaks larger than words, isn't it? What I want to share the interesting part of TLC through their latest contest is that the idea of showing out your talent and creativity that lies inside youself! With a great rewards of few days vacation at your dream island, TLC proves that besides we bloggers help them promoting their products, we are actually brushing out our creativity in order to win the judges' heart. hehe..

After browsing through most of the links i.e. blogger's site that participated in TLC's contest, I have a strong feeling that most of us, yup including myself-trying to think something rather interesting and beneficial to present TLC to the community in the most creative way. Is either products review, own experiences, creative poem with a bit sense of comedy or even imagination from the view of a baby!

Why not try it yourself? Who knows that you might be the lucky chosen one? Click here for more details.

Well done!

Today, 9th February - will be another date for us to remember. Not because today is a public holiday for Selangor & Wilayah people, but a date which marks Maryam's another milestone. She can walk! Congratulations dear! Although just few steps and then continue crawling, ummi know that you've done a very good job sayang!

At the age of 10 months and 12 days, she manage to walk without support from anyone of us. I'm very happy and proud of you. InsyaAllah, in few days time, with her strong determination and dedication through her training daily (hehe), she can become an expert in walking like the adults. InsyaAllah =)

She's also shows less interest in rice porridge. Orang dah besar la katakan! She doesn't want to eat porridge anymore, prefer rice instead. Maryam maryam, anak ummi. Heheh..I know that she's actually has started eating most of the foods that we eat such as fried mee, nasi lemak etc - but porridge is her main dishes. Let's see whether she's still favour her porridge or not tomorrow morning.

By late afternoon just now, Maryam shows some discomfort on herself- I can see that her face getting reddish. She's having a slight fever again. The last time was about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully just a normal fever. She's sleeping now- hopefully getting better by tomorrow morning. Orang tua-tua selalu cakap, baby ni selalu demam kalau nak belajar something. hehe..Maryam ni tengah nak belajar berjalan la tu sampai demam dia. Huhu...sian anak ummi.

Get well soon sayang!

Day dreaming? Am I?

Lately I've been thinking of doing something else in order to upgrade myself. I don't feel like doing what I'm doing right now. I mean the way my life has been going on up till today. I always feel like my life has been miserable, i.e. lacking of something valuable and interesting - not only for my own good but to my family as well.

Working from morning till evening, then going back home..using the same highway or roads, cars everywhere etc. Such a boring life! I need something that is more than that. Deep down inside me, this is not what I'm looking for. I always dream of staying at home, looking after my own children, arranging home the way I like etc. InsyaAllah, sooner or later- hopefully my dream will come true. Alhamdulillah, hubby shared the same thought of me as a fulltime housemaker. =)

Although I want to be at home, that does not mean just involves doing all the normal routines such as washing clothes, cooking etc. I want to be more than that insyaAllah. Maybe earning or working from home- where at the same time, not left alone my children.

One of the fields that I've been thinking of is through online shop. Looks like easy but I doubt so. It surely involved the same procedure like owning a physical shop whereby marketing, administration, finance are definitely important criteria to look after. Do you know why I say that? There's hundreds or maybe thousands of online shops that sells the same products. I'm quite amazed with the number of online shops that I found in the internet especially in Malaysia. They sometimes sell the same products or maybe more or less the same thing. And I'm sure they are quite well maintain among their circle of customers or other people. They have their own targets when selling. In a way, this is a good environment actually. A healthy competition. The only difference that I can think of is the time that you have. Working at your own pace and leisure. You can still concentrate on house chores while working, reading to your daughter while taking orders etc. But, on second thought, it actually involve you to work around the clock. No punch in & clock-out time. I think I need to be a graduate in time management course to excel in doing few tasks in a time. huhu...

Hmm..what kind of product(s) should I sell online? Any ideas? Since pregnant and after delivered my first child (now 10 mo), I have a great interests in parenting, babies and homeschooling. All these can be the main idea with respect to my dream online shop. Haa..why not starting a new online shop, which sells babies' and mummies' stuff like hehe...nah..not that big and established onlineshops like that. I need to get more experiences and learn and learn further to have such a lovely and quality products like what has now offers. Or maybe TLC wants to hire me as one of the TLCs dealers. hehe..

Or maybe selling muslimah wears on the net? Hmm..good idea I guess. Where at the same time, promoting the way a Muslim woman should wear- decent, smart and yet fashionable. And the most important thing is wearing and feeling proud as a good Muslimah insyaAllah.

I need to spend time and think deeply on this matter. Hope my dream may come true. Do pray for my success!

Babies' Safety and TLC (Part ii)

Since Maryam is now a master in crawling and can even walk or cruising from one furniture to another, extra attention is definitely a must. This means chairs, tables etc are no longer beyond her reach. She can even go from here to there in the blink of my eyes. Now, all places around the house might not be safe for her.

Area which should be put extra attention on her safety is the kitchen- the place where hot pans, poisonous liquid are being placed. Definitely all sharps items such as knives, scissors and other dangerous items should be put higher and out of her reach. Oh yes, those breakable items too. There was one time where Maryam almost pull a soy sauce bottle (kicap). But Alhamdulillah, sempat diselamatkan. I've told you that she moves faster than me!

Beside that, my dear baby also able to open cabinets. Really cute when seeing her little finger trying to grasps the knob of the cabinet door few times until she cries for help when she cannot open it. That was before. Now, she's good at it, which means new playing area for her! Hooray! says her but no no no sayang...banyak barang2 kaca dalam tu. Maybe I should buy safety tool for that. Oh yes, why not we have a look at thelilcaliphonline for a while. I'm sure there's something I can think of buying there.

away for a while...

browsing..... about this one?

She's 10months old today!

How time really flies! Today, she's 10mo. A month wiser insyaAllah. I can still remember the time when she's still in the womb. Every month, I can't wait to go for check-up to have a look at her movement via ultrasound. hehe.
She's big girl now. She learns new things daily- and her fav is to play at the stairs. She can even go up and down few times without failed and without adults supervision! Sungguh bahaya! It is not that we just let her be, but her movement is really fast and within few seconds, she can be at somewhere else. Exploring the whole house is her main activity! Boleh jadi leka main especially kalau dapat bongkar my handbag!

Maryam now is in the midst of learning to stand without support and sometimes can walk few steps on her own. InsyaAllah, she can walk soon! Can't wait for that moment. Oh yes, her upper tooth is now can be seen clearly. hehe..And that makes it 3 in total within a month! Now, she can have variety of meals- not just rice porridge =)

But, on this special day, she's not feeling well. Her fever was quite high this morning. So, off we go to Dr Musa clinic @ DSH. And, that means another day off for me today after 4 days CNY holiday! Although she's sick, but she doesn't look like one. She's still active as usual and doesn't really sleep and rest for the whole day except for about an hour this morning. I guess that must be because of the medicine that the doctor gave to her during our visit.
Now, she's sleeping soundly in her cot. InsyaAllah, she will be getting better by tomorrow morning.

Get well soon sayang!

BF and TLC =)

Nowadays, most mommies has set a target to fully breastfeed their child once they delivered. Almost all hospitals either the government or the privates also promoting the benefits of breastfeeding especially to baby up to the first 6 months. Many campaigns, posters and parenting classes were up and being organised to educate parent-to-be. So far as I know, there is also Breastfeeding Week, which was held last August 2008, and will be held yearly. Amazingly, it is not only celebrated in Malaysia but the whole world.

Me too, does not want to miss out the opportunity. Maryam, Alhamdulillah is on BF until today. Yup, sometimes I do feel tired especially to try and squeeze some time during working hours to express. But, the negative feeling turned out to be a strong determination whenever I look at her photo and watch her video on my hp when expressing. Thanks also to my precious tool i.e. my pumping machine- Spectra3! Within 10-15mins you can get a full 5 oz EBM! It is highly recommended! Despite it's lightweight and portable, the suction level can also be adjusted according to your convenience level. It is also very user friendly and comfortable. The price is not that expensive compared to other brands. I bought it at RM368 last March 2008, which only comes with 1 spectra bottle. But at thelilcaliph online store, you can get 6 MOM's Precious bottle FOC which cost RM35.90! Even more, by just one click, it can be delivered to your doorstep for free since it costs you more than RM200!(T&C applies) What a really good bargain!

For mommies out there, you can buy anything for your precious at your finger tips. At thelilcaliphonline store, you can get anything that you want. From the day you were blessed with the good news of the amazing dot in your womb until the day your child is born, everything you needed is here. Have a pleasant time shopping there!

First timer?

Just trying out something new..perhaps starting a new hobby? To become a blogger...sharing thru esperience or thru research on anything esp on parenting, babies etc. Hope I'm able to manage my time wisely on something that would benefit myself and those who are reading my blog. Or is there anyone reading it? ehhe..I guess so..Sooner or later. =)

I think that's all for now. Need to get familiar with this thing (blog etc) first to proceed further. Any bloggers who are willingly to help are most welcome.
